Organizations at state and regional levels that have been funded through the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1998 (P.L. 100-407) and its 1994 reauthorization to develop a statewide program to improve the access that individuals with disabilities have to assistive technology. Services available through state and regional assistive technology resource centers may include information and referral; assistance in obtaining devices and services; technology demonstration centers; equipment exchange and recycling programs; financial loan programs; peer support groups; outreach services; protection and advocacy; and training for services providers, individuals with disabilities and/or their family representatives and others.
